Patrick Acogny is a choreographer and teacher of African dance techniques and also holds a PhD in choreographic studies on African dance techniques. Former artistic director of Germaine Acogny's École des sables, the famous African training centre for professional dancers based in Senegal, Patrick has settled in Rennes (France) where he now pursues his career as a freelancer. Passionate about teaching, research and artistic works, Patrick enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge with both amateurs and professionals. He has just published a book on his teaching's approach: African Contemporary Dance Deconstructed at the University of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
