    Dance artist Mai Lê Hô and collaborators debut Walking In Layers , a multidisciplinary 2-day festival addressing layers of identity while merging Vietnamese, French, and American influences and artists through dance, live improv music, documentary video, eco-fashion, and more.

    INTERLUDES

    Nov 17 & 18 2023

    The piece choreographed by CocoMotion and performed by NuTribe Dance Company. The piece about love, friendship, self love, the space between those pivotal movements and the seasonal changes that accompany these shifts in life. Interludes features live musicians included a bassist, beatboxer, keyboardist and emcee. In addition to dancers who both partake in choreography and freestyle.

BC in The BX residency, March 22-26 2024  

Dance West Network’s Re-centering/Margins Residency alumni Jennifer Aoki, Sophie Dow, Isaac Gasangwa, Robyn Grant-Moran, Aryo Khakpour, Nick Miami Benz, Mohammed Rashead participated in a four-day residency in The Bronx, NYC, March 22-26, 2024. The artists met with Dancing Futures alumnae: Rebecca Gual, Alicia Raquel Morales, Queerly Femmetastic,  Mai Lê Hô, CoCoMotion.

With artists sharings and exchanges at BAAD!, attending performances with impromptu community dancing, seeing other performances, meeting artists, taking class, touring the new Bronx Music Hall, the artists left The Bronx with new creative ideas and connections. Until the next !

Pepatián:Bronx Arts ColLABorative’s Dancing Futures: Artist and Mentor Collaborative Residency offers three selected BIPOC artists and/or Bronx-based artists with opportunities to create new performance works at BAAD! with access to rehearsal space, mentorship support, written documentation, and professional development opportunities. 

Dancing Futures: Artist and Mentor Collaborative Residency is a project initiated by Pepatián in partnership with BAAD! and funded in large part by the Jerome Foundation, as well as in part by public funds from the Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and public funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Bronx Council on the Arts.
